Taipei, June 30th, 2011 – Today Linpus, a leader in the field of open source operating system solutions in the consumer space, announced the final version of their Location Planner application and its availability on the Android application store.

Recently, Linpus has been investing considerable resources in the Android area with a version of Linpus Lite for Android, Linpus Lite Android Edition. That edition has a customized UI layer from Linpus for ease-of-use, it is compatible with X86 and Arm chips, and has a number of Linpus applications, including: Linpus eReader, Location Planner  and Ultimate keyboard applications.

Location Planner is an entirely new application from Linpus that combines scheduling and maps to let you know what you are doing everyday, and where. It integrates Google services including Maps, Weather and Calendar into a single user interface, while letting you see your list of tasks for a day and also see all of those tasks/events on a map so that you can easily plan your routes. In Agenda Mode, you can just click on a day on the calendar and it will show you on a map all the places you need to be on that day. Alternatively, select a few days or a week and see your planned trips for that time period.

“Our goal here to was to address a specific requirement,” said Rita Jing, vice-president of sales. “We wanted people to be able to see all the places they needed to be for a certain time so that they could not only decide routes but also reschedule for the best places to visit and in what order. We hoped to have created a valuable companion application in the location and scheduling area.”

To add a new task there is a simple and intuitive interface for inputting your task details, location, and then for planning and rearranging routes. Once you have added tasks for a given time period you can check on the weather.
Linpus Location Planner also provides a connection to Google Navigation services.
