The products and platforms we have worked on include: smartphone, notebook, tablet, netbook, desktop, Arm and Intel X86. Our Linux distribution, Linux Lite, remains the choice of several of the world’s largest OEMs, making it the leading product in the bundle space. To date we continue to stay ahead and expand our offerings: this year we launched three applications on Google Play with plans to launch many more.

Employees

Linpus has more than 200 employees split between its headquarters in Nangang Software Park, Taipei, and its branch office in Shanghai. Of these more than eighty are employed in research and development.

History

  • 2012 - Linpus integrates HTML5 applications into its distro, and releases a number of Android apps: Linpus Launcher, Linpus Keyboard and Linpus Weather.
  • 2011 - Linpus Lite MeeGo – Netbook Edition is sold on netbooks for several large OEMs. Android – Linpus creates cross-platform edition with Linpus enhanced UI.
  • 2010 - One of the first companies to ship Moblin and MeeGo - and launches a range of new product lines, including: Linpus Lite Tablet Edition; Linpus Lite SmartTV; and Linpus E-reader solution.
  • 2009 - Linpus launches several super-fast instant-on operating systems and one of the first Moblin V2 products.
  • 2008 - Linpus Linux Lite is chosen for several of the worlds largest ODMs' netbooks. Linpus becomes Moblin OSV.
  • 2007 - More than 5 million devices bundled with Linpus software sold.
  • 2003 - Linpus Linux becomes Linux distribution of Taiwan government.
  • 2003 - Linpus starts business as X window vendor of Acer, BenQ and Asus.
  • 2001 - Linpus distribution and instant-on media center solution.
  • 2000 - Linpus embedded GUI platform solution.

  • Linpus has a close working relationship with Intel, and is an open source partner of the Intel Software Network. We also have excellent working relations with most of the key players in the ecosystem: Acer, ASUS, BenQ, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Nvidia, Viewsonic, Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Foxconn, Inventec and Pegatron… among others.
